The VR Games & Experiences That Should Come To PlayStation VR 2…

July 11, 2021 ·

When you look at what games are on PlayStation VR, there are some amazing ones. There is Astro Bot Rescue Mission to even Farpoint and the Aim controller to PlayStation VR Worlds to Until Dawn: Rush of Blood to Blood & Truth just to name a few. While these titles would do amazing on PCVR and Oculus Quest/Quest 2. There are some games in their own right that have done well on those same platforms that hopefully will come to PlayStation VR 2. Just like the PSVR ones mentioned, these titles are not in any special order or even ranked. They are just titles that with PlayStation VR 2 controllers having the thumbstick and a few other tricks, could really shine on PlayStation VR 2 when it is released.

So here are just some of the games and experiences that hopefully and should come to PlayStation VR 2:

Phantom: Covert Ops – If you enjoy stealth action and being a covert operative with one night to prevent all-out war, then this might be right up your alley. But have to do it from a kayak that you have to paddle to move and steer as you try to hide and take out the enemy.

VRChat – Now, I know PlayStation had PlayStation Home and I hope that comes back in a VR because it would be amazing and fun. But if you are wanting a place to hang out, have some meaningful conversations, and pretty much become any character you want while doing so, then VRChat would be an awesome way to socially interact with others. Do I think it will come, no. Simply because of what can and probably does go on and the amount of filtering that Sony would have to do, plus having non-Sony characters mixed in with Sony ones might result in a bigger headache for some than they would have asked for.

Real VR Fishing – Sure, PlayStation has had some fishing games and experiences in their own right, but not like this. Here, you have avatars, different cosmetics, and boats, join friends, meet new people so you can all go fishing together. But what’s better than fishing with friends? The integration of YouTube and web-browsing while doing it. So want to watch that favorite clip, movie, or listen to your favorite music while doing it, you can do it here.

Lone Echo -Single-player story-driven games are great in VR. Taking on the role of Jack—an advanced artificial intelligence with a state-of-the-art synthetic body—you’ll help Captain Olivia Rhodes solve an increasingly threatening mystery as you use futuristic tools, clever problem solving, and interactive dialogue to engage with the world around you.

Jurassic Worl Aftermath – I think we can all agree when we first saw the dinosaurs come alive in Jurassic Park we were hooked. Seeing how dinosaurs reacted to people and while some may have not survived, it still was a thrilling franchise to watch. Crash-landing on Isla Nublar after the fall of Jurassic World, you find yourself trapped in a research facility when your mission to recover valuable information goes disastrously wrong.

Boneworks -If physics, action, puzzle, and shooter are all words that get you hyped, then look no further. Play as a Virtual Security director through the game’s mysterious narrative and explore the deep inner workings of the Monogon Industries’ artificial intelligence operating system; Myth OS.

Half-Life: Alyx – The story of an impossible fight against a vicious alien race known as the Combine, set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2. Playing as Alyx Vance, you are humanity’s only chance for survival.

Lies Beneath – If you like the art style of a comic book and playing out the horror in VR, then step right up. Something’s gone horribly wrong in the sleepy town of Slumber, Alaska. Now, returning college student Mae must fight to save her father (and her sanity) from the terrifying townsfolk and creepy creatures infecting her hometown. Experience a living comic book full of frightful scenarios as you uncover the secrets of Slumber… and Mae’s past.

Fallout 4 VR – As the sole survivor of Vault 111, you enter a world destroyed by nuclear war. Every second is a fight for survival, and every choice is yours. Only you can rebuild and determine the fate of the Wasteland. Welcome home. This one may be a long shot about coming to PlayStation VR 2, but it would still be pretty cool if a deal was worked out.

Population One – Get ready to fight anywhere in this squad-based VR Battle Royale. Multiplayer Battle Royale where you can fight anywhere could be very popular on PlayStation VR 2.

DEMEO – Do you like a good RPG table-top experience but may not have others in your household that enjoy it as well? Step up and roll the die with up to four players assume the role of an eagle-eyed hunter, mystical sorcerer, deadly assassin, or protective guardian. But choose your champions wisely in this cooperative adventure, for once you have accepted your quest, players must work together to vanquish the unholy force that corrupts everything living in the province of Helmaar…or die trying.

ForeVR Bowl – Game night is back like never before! Take your pick from over six alleys (1990’s hall, the Moon, Tiki Island, and more!) and have a blast with friends and family in an experience like no other in VR. Bowl solo or invite a crew to join in an immersive landscape complete with a unique soundtrack and fun easter eggs. Enjoy casual competition or join the tournament ranks unlocking over 100 collectible balls, each with its own unique throwing style and just a little bit of spice.

Again, these titles are not in any particular order or even having a ranking, but just some of the few of the very many that would benefit and shine coming to PlayStation VR 2. Nothing is guaranteed, but we can still be hopeful, right? So what do you think should come to PSVR 2?
