Will You Be Able To Survive The Trenches?

by The VR Dimension

Welcome to the Trenches, 1917. I stand on the cusp of despair, cloaked in an oppressive atmosphere that gnaws at my very soul. Each heartbeat echoes through the darkness of World War I’s grim realities. I am James R., stranded on this wretched battlefield, marooned behind enemy lines. My heart races as I wrestle with the unyielding forces of chaos and terror besieging me. Survival is my only thought, and in this surreal abyss, I must fight not only for my life but also for the flickering flame of my sanity.

Every shadow I encounter seems to whisper secrets as I traverse this grim landscape, armed only with my senses and a trench whistle, a pitiful token in a world ravaged by despair. The chilling tale unfolds around me as I navigate the horrors lurking in the dark, each step fraught with danger. In this macabre existence, I feel the chilling grip of dread; my microphone transforms into an instrument of terror. The very breath I draw may betray me; a soft whisper or a desperate cry for help may summon my doom. Silence is my only ally. I must remain hidden and alert, for if I falter, if I make a sound, they will come for me, ravenous shadows seeking flesh. Each creaking floorboard screams of my presence, each broken bottle a clarion call to my enemies. Every turn I take in these cursed trenches could signal the end.

Features include:

  • An Immersive Experience: With realistic graphics and a claustrophobic environment set in the trenches of World War I in 1917.
  • Hardcore Gameplay: A hardcore survival horror game where there is only 1 save. If you die, you die. That is why every step is crucial.
  • Replayability: Randomized locations for clues so that playthroughs will be different on each take, with various takes on each corner.
  • Hearing and Senses: Rely on your hearing to escape the trenches. Be careful, though; the enemies can mimic the sounds familiar to you.
  • Hiding System: Hide from the enemies in narrow trench passageways and under beds to get past your enemies or hide from them.
  • Insanity: Just because you passed somewhere already does not mean that there is nothing there. The environment may change with your sanity.
  • Gut-Wrecking Moments: Walking on wood can make more noise, the same as throwing bottles; all these things can give away your position. Try to evade them or use them to your advantage.
  • Trench Whistle: Use your trench whistle if you are lost. When used, a sound will play if you are near a clue; however, the enemies may hear your trench whistle, and it may give away your position, so use it wisely.
  • Enemy That Listens: The enemies can hear your footsteps, your breathing, and your fear. It can mimic the sounds of others and will stop at nothing to get to you.
