Huawei Is Making A Tethered VR Headset…

October 27, 2020 ·

Yes, you read that correctly. The company Huawei is building a new VR headset that will have 6-DoF that also tethers to a phone. In a tweet from Tyriel Wood, you can see how small the headset is with some familiar designed controllers. But looking at the video that Nikk Mitchell responded with, the controllers that once you lock them in, act as a stand for the VR headset which is a nice touch.

It will be interesting to see not only the cost of the headset but also what will be supported on this headset as it’s tethered to a phone. Maybe Steam VR or maybe something completely different.
