Mind Labyrinth VR Dreams – The Review

October 4, 2019 ·

If you had the chance to sit back and be allowed to enter a place like no other, would you? What if the place opened you up to a world of harmony, music, spiritual meaning, and meditation, would you take the step or be afraid of what may lay dormant in your mind and soul? The door is open but does Developer Frost Earth Studio and Publisher Oxygene Media allow for a journey of one’s mind without the need for violence? Let’s find out with Mind Labyrinth VR Dreams for the PlayStation VR.

Before we go any further, please note that Mind Labyrinth VR Dreams has no violence, it’s not an adventure game or a puzzle game or an action game. This is about positivity, about emotions, and about magical places. It is important going in that you must understand that this is going to be something different, something while I was playing that I couldn’t put my finger on what it was or what was going on and it wasn’t until maybe the first or second dream world that it really hit me in a way that I will get into a bit later. With that said, let’s continue.

Before starting you are given a choice of controls that you would like to use. So you will need to find out if you prefer the DualShock 4 controller or the Move controllers. I went with the Move controllers that to me just felt more natural for this time of experience, but others may prefer the DualShock 4 controller.

When I first entered this state of mind I was surrounded by these colorful portals of sorts. A window to a world if you will. There was something so calming, so majestic that I was in complete awe of the whole thing. Each one with a different color that had this familiar tone to it. But above each one had Opportunity which added to what I couldn’t put my finger on, but something I have seen before. So I decided to enter the tutorial where it was explained that this is an alternative world without violence, where you can meditate and rediscover yourself with the music of great international artists, discover philosophical quotations of important characters as I interact with Imaginative and dreamlike environments. But one of the things it said really intrigued me was where it mentioned that this will always be constantly updated by the team of expert professionals, through the additional contents you will find in the “Explore New Worlds section. That last part made a lot more sense after my time and put a smile on my face.

Then I decided to enter my first world…my first dream and it was amazing. I did not move for over a minute. The music…the environment…the sounds…the rhino of this world, it was as part of my heart, mind, and soul were passing to the other side in order to remember the memories. But I have never been here before, but somehow I honestly felt at peace and everything just felt right. Then it said the words “An opportunity had just spawned, go find it”.  And so I was off to find an opportunity.

With the Move controller in hand, I was able to shoot this dart, this ball of light. It did not harm anything, it was more like part of my soul was able to reach out and I could feel it. Then I saw a symbol that I unleashed my dart, my ball of light and once it hit, an inspirational saying was displayed “Try not to become a man of success, but rather a man of value” – Albert Einstein. Wait…could Mind Labyrinth VR Dreams be what I was thinking…what I was feeling? I had to press on. I came to a place where it told me to press X to visit the refuge. So I did and it took me to this place…this exclusive place. One where I could just sit and become one with everything. It allowed me to clear my thoughts and just sit back, relax, and really be thankful for everything.

After I found the portal back, I just really had to take a moment to take in what I just experienced. But there was something else, something that felt needed and wanted. Then I realized that another part of me that was being called. So I pressed on.

And I pressed on…

Each dream…each world had its own personality, its own music that fits, it’s own refuge to meditate, its own inspirational messages, each of its interactions (try at one world to use the candle on the fireworks and it’s pretty awesome), and its own opportunity to collect. Then it all came together. Life is not about what you have or the destination. It is about the journey and what you make of it.

Remember dreams are an interpretation of our own subconscious mind. Maybe hiding the secrets from within or maybe they are a warning. When the time comes how will we judge ourselves about the things we did, the pain we may have caused, and the decisions we made, and the path we chose? No matter the stress and no matter the discouragement, what counts is what you do with it all, how you turn it around, and how positivity is the key. At times in our life when it seems that we keep falling down, remember that we can only go up from there. Do not let anyone tell you that you are not good enough, that you do not matter,  and do not let anyone try to allow negativity in your life. It really all makes sense now. I don’t know what has happened here, but Mind Labyrinth VR Dreams really is something special. All you have to do is open the door, open your mind, rediscover yourself, and go on the journey.

Mind Labyrinth VR Dreams is out now on PlayStation VR and is also available on the Oculus Store, Steam, and Viveport. A review code was provided.
