The Quest 2 Prices Will Increase On…

July 26, 2022 ·

Ever since the Quest 2 was announced and released it has had its support from first-time players to those who live and breathe Virtual Reality. The Quest 2 allows us to play without a cord anywhere we want and even play our favorite PCVR games via ways like the Oculus Link. When it was announced, you had two choices in size and very competitive prices with the 128GB version for $299 and the 256GB for $399. But ever since the pandemic with COVID 19 and even today, the prices for everything from gas to food have increased. The costs of parts have gone up from chips for cars to parts for your PC to even your favorite consoles. So what does this mean for Quest 2? Well, due to the rising costs, the Quest 2 will also go up in costs by $100 with the 128GB version increasing to $399 and the 256GB version to $499 as well as the costs for the refurbished units and accessories as well.

With the new costs coming soon, for those that will be soon purchasing a Quest 2, you will be able to get Beat Saber, but you have to make sure you do not use an account that already has Beat Saber enabled and you must purchase a new Quest 2 from August 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022, as well as activating the device by January 31, 2023.

This means if you want to not have the increase you better hurry and purchase that Quest 2 before August 1st. With the holidays coming up, it might be good to get that VR fan in your life something special at a lower price. But it makes me think with this information, what Sony will do cost-wise with the PlayStation VR2? Could they make it the same price as what the Quest 2 will increase to or could they make this their moment and have the PlayStation VR2 $100 under what the cost of the Quest 2 is going to? Time will only tell.
