The Oculus Quest 2 is a pretty awesome headset. From being wireless, having hand tracking, to even acting as a PCVR headset with Oculus Link. But the updates keep getting better and better. Back in November, Oculus released the v23 software that brought some fantastic updates. For one, Oculus Move Fitness Tracking. Using information that you provide such as your height and weight, can have a better idea of helping you track your calories and overall help you become a better you. Second, Oculus reduced the latency and increased resolution. Third, new onboarding tutorials so new users can get to know their headset even better. And finally, 90Hz refresh rate in select apps and the menu. Basically allowing developers to update their apps to run at 90Hz for an over better experience.
But now, it looks like Oculus wants to up that refresh rate to 120Hz. This will over all give the Oculus Quest 2 an even better overall experience including the immersion and comfort. Of course, this will be coming in the form of beta just to make sure all goes as smoothly as possible and it looks like it is happening in Q2 of 2021. I honestly cannot wait to see what Oculus brings to the Oculus Quest 2 headsets.
