You have your new Meta Quest 3 or you hope to receive one for Christmas and as we all know, the default head strap that comes with the headset, while it does what it needs to do, it’s not very comfortable. But as you are using it, you also wish that the Quest 3 just had some extra juice for your gaming sessions. Sure, you could plug a USB battery pack and then put that in your pocket, but that may not be a comfortable solution for everyone. And then going back and forth, plugging and unplugging between a battery pack and then charging the headset when you are not using it to make sure you are ready for next time. But what if you could have it all in one simple solution and what if that solution could include audio as well? Well, the solution is here. Let’s check out the KIWI design Comfort Battery Head Strap – SPC for Quest 3.
In looking at the box, you can already tell there is an improvement over what you initially received with the Quest 3. The KIWI design Comfort Battery Head Strap – SPC for Quest 3 is a head strap that not only replaces the default head strap but adds comfort with new padded memory foam cushions at the top and the back of the head strap along with the rear.
Before you even get to everything that is in the box, on the inside under the top of the box, you have the simple instructions on how to install your new Comfort Battery Head Strap, with KIWI design’s simple words, “Make Things Better”.
Inside you have the removable back bracket with the top strap, the battery pack that has a capacity of 6400 mAh, the cable clip, the instruction manual, and a cleaning cloth.
One thing to notice is the charging cable. Notice how it’s USB C as well as the SPC (Single-Point-Charging) that we will get into very soon.
Inserting the rear padded back bracket into the battery pack part of the head strap is very simple and snaps right in. But look at that padded back bracket. The back of your head will be thanking you.
You will need to remove the facial interface from the headset, which is very easy to do. Then you will attach the headset connectors to the left and right arms of the Quest 3. Once both are connected and flush with the arms, thread the top strap through the slot in the headset and then replace the facial interface with the headset. That’s all you have to do as far as putting everything together.
On the back, you will see the KIWI design name, the USB charging port with four LED indicators, and the dial for expansion in size.
The headset can also easily be tilted in case you need to raise the headset while in use.
The Comfort Battery Head Strap looks and feels fantastic once it’s all complete. But what about the SPC that I mentioned earlier? What is the purpose you might have been wondering. Well, that is a very good question. If you have the KIWI design RGB Vertical Stand, it came with a USB C adapter that also had SPA at the end. The good thing is that the SPA is magnetic. So using the Comfort Battery Head Strap with the RGB Vertical Stand, you now have an easy magnetic connection that while the head strap is connected to the Quest 3, you can also charge the battery head strap at the same time.
So not only do we have a comfortable headset that gives an extra four hours of playtime thanks to the 6400 mAh battery pack that is built in, but we also have a simple way to charge both the Quest 3 & the head strap, when combined with the RGB Vertical Stand, you have a great way to display your Quest 3.
I also mentioned including the audio as well. And as much as the demand for them to come to the Quest 3, there is a way to improve on the audio for now. KIWI design also has the Clip-On Headphones that are designed for the Quest 2. However, you can use them with the Comfort Battery Head Strap.
Now, why this does work and works very well, because the Quest 3 audio port is on the other side, that means with the Clip-On headphones of the left and right will have to be switched. But I will say that not only does my head feel better, but my ears do as well.
So overall, the KIWI design Comfort Battery Head Strap for the Quest 3 adds the comfort, the battery, and does what it sets out to do, to make things better. And we should want that.
