So you have had the Quest 3 since day one. Possibly, you scored an awesome deal for Black Friday, or you are hoping to get one for Christmas. One thing is for sure, the default head strap that comes with the Quest 3 may get the job done for a little bit, but it is not the most comfortable thing to wear as your play sessions go on. Sure you could keep using the Quest 3 as is, and at times, it may seem as if you are trying to ignore what your head is telling you. Or, you could take the Quest 3 to the next step of being comfortable by replacing the head strap with one that will make you wonder why you didn’t upgrade sooner and check out the ZyberVR Elite Strap for the Quest 3.
In looking at the box, you can already see there is a major improvement over the default head strap in two places, the top and the back of the head.
Inside the box, you receive simplicity. Along with the Elite Strap, there are the instructions, the box that the Elite Strap comes in, the rear bracket, and a microfiber cloth for your Quest 3 lens cleaning needs.
The first thing you will want to do is make sure your Quest 3 is off. I mean, you could leave it powered on, but won’t it feel much better when you have the Elite Strap with that comfort on why you power on your Quest 3? Carefully take off the default head strap from the sides of the Quest 3, and then undo the top strap from the Quest 3. Don’t worry about the facial interface coming apart from the headset as it will easily snap back into place. As far as the default head strap, feel free to put it back in the Quest 3 box if you wish or disregard, it really is your choice.
With the rear bracket attached to the headset, all that needs to be done is to thread the top strap through the opening in the rear bracket. All I can say is that ZyberVR has made it simple at this point of the installation.
As you can see, after threading it through the front bracket, all that is left is attaching the left and right sides to the headset.
From the back, the Quest 3 already looks better. The Zyber name is right there in all its glory and you have the turn dial to make sure you have a secure fit every time. Great job ZyberVR.
As you can now see, not only do you have a more comfortable head strap for when you are playing, but you also have a rear bracket that fits the back of your head like it was almost custom-made for you. Another thing you will notice is that the Elite Strap can pivot upwards of 60° to easily remove the headset and the back can pivot 10° down for various rear head shapes. This also means that those who wear glasses should have just as comfortable experience as those who don’t wear glasses all thanks to the ZyberVR design.
After using the Elite Strap for as much as I have, it just feels like not only is my head supported, but also light like my head had this relief that it didn’t before. Now, the question is this something you should get? Well, it’s much cheaper than the official one, has a lot more padding, and can tilt, unlike the official one. It honestly is a win-win for anyone that you know who has a Quest 3 or will be getting one for the Holidays and beyond.
